Effect of T-shaped spur dike length on mean flow characteristics along a 180-degree sharp bend

Abstract An open channel flume with a central 180-degree bend rigid bed is designed to obtain better understanding of the complex flow pattern around T-shaped spur dike located in sharp bend. The 3-dimensional velocities are measured by using an acoustic Doppler velocimetry under clear-water conditions. This study’s primary objective compare variations mean along variety lengths. In order do so, parameters such as streamlines, maximum velocity distribution, and secondary strength influence three lengths will be analyzed then compared case where no dikes implemented. results show that placed at apex, range increases approximately 2.5 times. addition, 67% increase length wing web leads 27% growth
